Lot 1339
1857. PCGS graded MS-64 PQ. CAC Approved. Nice even toning with light copper hues throughout. The strike is bold on all the central devices, as well as the dentils on the obverse and reverse. The Flying Eagle cent first appeared in 1856 in limited numbers, but most Americans first saw them in 1857 when they were widely released. This one was set aside from the time of issue and still looks quite fantastic (PCGS # 2016) .

1857. PCGS graded MS-64. Lightly toned with just one small carbon speck on the reverse, and the strike is crisp and bold. A splendid example of this short lived type coin (PCGS # 2016) .
